Competition

The competition will be Short Course, held in the southern end of the competition pool.

Warmup/down will be in the training pool and/or the northern end on the competition pool

Marshalling will take place in the Utility Alcove.

 


Transport:

Car Parking

Car parking in P2 & P3 will be charged at a flat rate of $18 per day. Parking tickets will need to be validated at the pool service desk before returning to the car park, or a higher fee may be incurred.

Train

Olympic Park station is on the T7 line – Olympic Park.
Change at Lidcombe station for services leaving every 10 minutes.
Travel times (approx):

Central – 30 minutes
Parramatta – 18 minutes

Ferry

Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf is situated 3kms from the centre.
Travel from Parramatta or Circular Quay.
Travel times (approx):

Circular Quay – 33 minutes
Parramatta – 18 minutes

450 from Hurstville
525 from Parramatta station
525/526 from Burwood

Lake Parramatta Reserve

Lackey St, North Parramatta

Lake Parramatta is 10.5 hectares in size, located in Lake Parramatta Reserve, a 73 hectare habitat that is popular for visitors who enjoy picnics, aquatic activities and bush walking.

 

Registration and Briefing  -  8:00am     Start  -  8:30am

 

Course:

It is a 1km course as marked in the diagram below, 2km swimmers go twice around the course.

The large marker buoys are to be kept to the right of the swimmer in both directions, whilst the smaller buoys, marking the pool section, should be kept to the left of the swimmer on the return journey.

 

Open Water Course

 

Safety:

All swimmers must wear the allocated caps at all times.

All swimmers must have their registration number displayed.

All swimmers must enter at the area directed by volunteers.

No swimmer is to go past the yellow marker buoys near the dam wall.

Safety crews will be on the water -  if you have any concerns raise your hand.

Entry and exit points can be slippery and swimmers need to take time and care when leaving the water - volunteers will be around to assist swimmers out.

Swimmers will finish the race in the water.

All swimmers must get their names checked off at the end of their swim.

 

Transport:

Lake Parramatta Reserve offers 68 car spots on site. When the car park is full, parking is available on surrounding streets just a short walk away.

Buses that travel along Windsor Road and Pennant Hills Road include stops about 500m from the Lake Parramatta entrance.

We hope to run shuttle buses to & from the venue.
